Interview: Clare Gallagher No Longer Shovels Snow for Rent

Clare Gallagher is a force of nature on the ultra-running scene. In 2017 the 26-year-old Boulderite notched her biggest win to date – at the CCC, part of the UTMB series – while setting a course record on a big international stage. On the environmental front, she walked the walk (ran the run?), advocating for public lands during a 200+ mile relay run through Utah and across Bear’s Ear’s National Monument while supporting Boulder nonprofits Winter Wildlands Alliance and Protect Our Winters (POW). We caught up with her at the annual Outdoor Retailer show in Denver in January to discuss her favorite podcasts,¬†what the “Clare Gallagher Show” would sound like and other fun things we thought you might like to hear about. Some serious stuff too. “That is such a weird question, Russ.”
