In his decades-long career as a high-altitude mountaineer, Luis Benitez emerged as one of the sport’s most prolific climbers, climbing the famed “Seven Summits” dozens of times. Now in a political role as Gov. John Hickenlooper’s right-hand man on the outdoor recreation industry, Benitez is emerging as a leading voice on some of the most pressing issues facing the industry.
On May 17 at The Studio Boulder, Benitez, the director of the Colorado Outdoor Recreation Industry Office, will address how the industry can become more diverse and inclusive – to people of color, the LGBTQ community and others.
The event is the season kickoff to Rare Air Talks, a new outdoor adventure speaker series, in collaboration with Dispatch Radio. Advanced pricing is available through April 20 at RareAirTalks.com.
